Traditional Style vs. PJ Style:
|
What's the difference?
As you look for wedding photographers you will probably hear these 2 terms all the time. These terms are thrown around a lot and mean different things to different people. Here is what it means to me.
Traditional Style photographs and albums are a more formal posed type photographs. There is a lot of formal posed photographs as well as photographs taken against a portrait background.
PJ Style is a more casual type of photograph, taken as things happen, not making them happen then photographing them. It is also convering some of the small details of your wedding such as your necklace, the floral arrangements in the church, the decorations at the reception. These things are also imporant, but were generally not covered during by a traditional photographer. You generally will get more photos to choose from, but more importantly all of the photos should tell the story of your wedding day.
Which one is better? Neither really, it depends on what you like, remember it is YOUR wedding album not mine. So what style do I shoot? Basically I shoot a mixture of both styles. I feel it is important to get beautiful portrait as well as be able to tell the story of your wedding day.
There is also 2 different styles of wedding albums I have available that sort of mimic the style differences. There is a traditional matted style album and a flushmount coffee table type album. The differences are sort of hard to describe so here is the same wedding done in both styles of album
You get to decide which type of album as well as the photos in your album. Always remember that this is your wedding not the photographers so you should be able to decide what you get, not the photographer!
